Next Big Game looks to bring its upcoming game to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, with the studio saying it plans to reveal the game at E3 2017 in Los Angeles on September 27.
The studio says it has been working on Birds of Preys, a sci-fi survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans have disappeared and robots have taken over, for several years.
It’s a “strategy game” in which players take control of a squad of humans in a futuristic environment.
It’s set in the future, with humans and robots competing for territory and resources.
Players will explore the environment, with AI controlling the robots.
“The game is a very different type of game than anything that we’ve ever made before,” co-founder and creative director David Fuchs told GamesIndustry International.
“We wanted to make a game that we were proud of and that we’d be proud to be part of.
The way we approached this game was not as an excuse to throw out the idea of making a third-person shooter.
It was to try and make something that would really be fun, something that was very visceral and something that we could get to play for a long time.”
Fuchs and the rest of the team at Next Big Games were tasked with making a game they felt was a game of “a new type of gameplay”, and they had an idea that it could have the same kind of “staring-back” gameplay of a first-person game, with players controlling their characters as they see fit.
“What we’re trying to do is have a new kind of gameplay experience in a game where you can move your character around,” he said.
“We want to do it in this new way, where it’s more of a sandbox and more of an exploration and more exploration and less of a control scheme.”
You can actually play it in a much more open and interactive way.
You can go and explore in a sandbox.””
In an interview with GamesIndustrii, Fuchs said that while the game will be set in an alternate Earth, he felt that “the idea of a new type [of gameplay] was really interesting and I really wanted to capture that”.”
This is a world that has been destroyed and is under a new sort of regime where they’ve basically taken over and the AI are not interested in it at all.”
In an interview with GamesIndustrii, Fuchs said that while the game will be set in an alternate Earth, he felt that “the idea of a new type [of gameplay] was really interesting and I really wanted to capture that”.
He said the team had also been “working on the AI to be very intelligent” and “a little bit more aggressive”, with players able to control AI units “like they do in a real game”.
“We want the AI in the game to be a little bit aggressive.
There’s this feeling of danger that comes with that, and we wanted to have that feeling of it,” he added.
“I think the thing we’re excited about is that the AI, the way that they act, that’s not very different from the game that’s already out there, the one that we’re developing now, so we’re going to try to push that a little further.”
Fumes said that there would be no “hard core” rules in the sequel, adding: “We really wanted the game in this sandbox kind of setting.
I think it would be interesting to have a kind of sandbox feel in it, where you could go and play for hours.
It would be a different experience for us.”
Finesse Studios, a studio based in Santa Monica, California, has released more than 20 games since launching in 2010.
