Posted September 01, 2018 07:01:54A production company will present the first live broadcast of Merlins legendary story, as part of a premiere of the new Merlin show.
The Merlin Show is expected to premiere Sept. 1 on Disney Channel.
It will be the first of three Merlin productions.
Disney Channel CEO Bob Iger said the show is “a tribute to the incredible talent and storytelling of our greatest heroes, who gave us the most extraordinary adventures in the history of the world.”
The show will be broadcast on Disney channels around the world.
“Merlin is a classic and one of the most beloved legends of all time, and this show is about our heroes and the stories they tell,” Iger wrote.
Disney Channel and Merlin Entertainment will work together on the Merlin project.
The Merlin show will also feature a live special with Merlins creator and star, Robert Cummings.
The series will also include interviews with the Merlin cast and producers.
Cummings told ABC News’ Matt Lauer that the show will explore the “spiritual journey” that Merlins legend began in his family.
“I think that that is a very important part of the show,” Cummings said.
“There’s going to be a lot of spiritual journeys, and we’re going to do a lot with that.”
Merlin airs on Disney channel in the United States, Canada and parts of Europe.
